Founded in 2010, Funky Buddha Brewery began as a brewpub, lounge, and hookah bar in Boca Raton, Florida. Initially brewing on a small, 40-gallon system, the brewpub began creating truly unique culinary-inspired beers, reaching worldwide acclaim such as 27th best brewery in the world according to RateBeer! Three short years later Buddha opened its 20,000 sq ft production brewery in the heart of South Florida, focusing on the continued use of big, bold flavors. You can find their flagships beers Hop Gun IPA and Floridian Hefeweizen on tap at the brewery year-round, and if you’re lucky enough to try a limited release you certainly won’t forget it! No Crusts Peanut Butter & Jelly Brown Ale, Blueberry Cobbler Ale, and Passionfruit Berlinerweiss are a few of our favorites. Just sayin’!
Miami’s first production brewery recently opened in the heart of the Wynwood Arts District. What used to be a warehouse and manufacturing district, Wynwood is now home to one of the largest street art exhibits in the world. Following the theme of art in beer making it was extremely important for the founders of Wynwood Brewing to be located in this exceptional neighborhood. Brewed with Miami’s hot weather in mind, their flagship beers, Pop’s porter, La Rubia Blond Ale, and Wynwood IPA, are light bodied, and crisp, ah makes us wanna go to the beach!
A very special part of our tour brings you to M.I.A. Brewing where you will be able to witness a brewery being born! M.I.A. Brewing has begun construction and estimates a January 2014 opening. Although the brewery hasn’t become operational they’ve already made a name for themselves at beer festivals and special events with their flagships Domino Pilsner, Freestyle Wheat Pale Ale, Castaway Kolsche, and the M.I.A. IPA. Yes, there will be beer and yes, hardhats are required!
Discover Miami’s first hand-crafted rum distillery! Miami Club Rum is family owned with a history of rum production dating back five generations. The distillers use South Florida sugarcane and other superior local ingredients. In 2013 the Miami-made spirit took home the gold metal for the world’s best white rum by the San Francisco World Spirits Competition! Tastings are truly unique combining different favors and aromas for a well rounded experience. Sample their signature cocktails: Preparate- ice tea with pear, fresh ginger, and rum; Mejita- twist on classic mojito with cranberry and rum; Mentirita- rum, coke, and lime.

The bus is the best part. They’re strangers when you get on, and by the time you leave, you’re friends.
The craft beer scene is just taking off in Miami, sure, you could drive to every brewery in SoFlo in a day, but why do that when you can leave the driving to someone else.
It’s all about maintaining relationships with the breweries. Barmon has made arrangements with several local breweries, including Wynwood Brewing, Biscayne Brewing, Miami Brewing Company, and MIA Brewing. Brewpubs might be added to the tour at a future date, but for now, the focus will be production breweries.
A 4-wheel yellow crusader, sardine-packed with a bunch of strangers sounds anything but inviting.
But get onboard, because this bus is going to breweries.
Hitch a ride on the Miami Brew Bus, a whole new kind of pint-sized public transportation from the guys behind LoKal Burger, coming in early December.
With breweries comes a tourist trade of people who want to spend their days touring and tasting. Cities like Asheville, North Carolina and Seattle host tens of thousands of people each year who come to visit their various breweries. Now, south Florida is getting the beer-tourism treatment with the Miami Brew Bus.
Now it’s time to take the love of lagers and ales to a new level with the Miami Brew Bus tours.
Brew Bus Miami’s Highway to Hops Tour is definitely a must-take tour whether you are a local or are visiting from out of town! A beer-filled brewing experience you will not forget!
“Great for all levels of beer geekdom. Great for building the craft beer community. Brewers are very accessible and open to questions.” And maybe most importanly, “Don’t have to drive.”
Want to spend the afternoon brewery-crawling with 20 of your closest friends without the risk of spending the night eating cold bologna sandwiches? Hit up the Miami Brew Bus
I’m a big fan of this concept and would recommend a group hop on the bus extravaganza and make it a day of boozin’ and crusin’ (the whole tour is approximately 5 hours.) Price is $60 a pop, but its really fun and probably worth the splurge.
